Ann Mei Chang

former USAID Chief Innovation Officer

Ann Mei Chang first began her career as a Senior Engineering Director at Google where she led the product development team for Emerging Markets. After 20 years in Silicon Valley, Chang moved her direction to the social and public sector as she served as Chief Innovation Officer at Mercy Corps beginning in 2013. Chang also served as Senior Advisor for Women and Technology in the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues at the US Department of State, where she was a part of Alliance for Affordable Internet committee which aims to expand Internet access in developing countries. She became chief innovation officer for Pete for America organization (2020 presidential campaign of Pete Buttigieg).

Ann Mei was voted as “Women In the World: 125 Women of Impact for 2013” by Newsweek and named one of the most powerful LGBTQ+ people in the tech area in 2019 by Business Insider.
